These are some earlier pieces that Ive done. They don't have a purpose yet but I have them in a special place for when there purpose comes up. They could be a card, purse, box.
hi julie...I love your work, it looks beautiful...the only request I have is that you make the photos larger so we can see the detail better. (If you have any questions about how to do it, I'm sure you know who to go to for help, LOL!)
I was taught to bead embroidery about 15 years ago by my sister-in-law, Robin Atkins. Bead embroidery workswell for me because I don't have pressure of rules. I feel relaxed while I bead for that very reason. I've used bead embroidery as a way to handle anxiety, a chronic problem for me. I discovered I love texture. So I took a class in free form peyote, and made some jewelry that I really like. My husband completed his degree in Liberal Arts with a focus in studio arts. As he was learning, I learned a lot from him and discovered how many art forms are out there. We work well together, and collaborate frequently. In last few years, I've gone wild with rubber stamping, collage, altered art and ATCs. It's all sooooo coooool!!!

I am a Minneapolis beader. Nice to know you are so close.
Your work so far is gorgeous. It will be fun to see your BJP pages.

Lovely stuff Julie & no wonder with Robin as your Mentor >grin< I really like the piece in the middle, I can almost see a dragon in there..
Gorgeous work. I like the freeform bracelet too.
Wow! What an incredibly talented family! I would have figured Robin is your sister! Absolutely gorgeous embroidery - especially love the purses.
