I started my BJP a little early(over the xmas holiday) because I was so happy to get all the snow we were getting. It was so beautiful. A Christmas just like the storybooks talk about. A white pristine blanket of snow, fluffy, sparkly and cold. I loved it so I got all my white, clear, and blueish beads about and started working eagerly. Well, that didn't last long because it then got so cold and icy here in MN. We have had a horrible winter so far, along with the rest of the country. So I lost my energy and I believe it shows. But I'm OK with that. Its pure survival here. The fabric is a swatch that Robin sent me. I thought it was perfect for the piece.

I just luv how *textural* your beadwork is...you have such a wonderful sense of mixing sizes & shapes to add dimension! January is wonderful, just the way it is. You will be able to look back on it and remember your *icy* feelings...

Ditto to Marty and Sweetpea's comments... Yup, that blue fabric and blueish-white/white beads certainly does capture the chill of MN in January. But more than that, the design captures the beauty of a new snow! Beautiful, Julie!!!

The variety of bead sizes and shapes makes me think of chunks of ice and snow. I grew up in MI so I know what your winters can be like! Here's to a warmer feeling for February ;- )

Julie, I am glad to be back visiting your blog! I think you captured the frigid January of MN very well in this piece. I wish I could mix bead sized like you do to create this wonderful texture!
