January Work

This month my subject is on authenticity, or being" true to my heart".. The tip starts with the white -being my true self. As I go along in my day I get involved with all the negative self talk, or the shoulds or the shouldnts, or the too high expectations, or the Im so specials...I then find myself totally spinning out of control. Im agitated, anxious, angry...you name it. Eventually I become aware of what Im doing and make a decision to change what Im doing and take a deep breath, watch my thoughts and realize what my values are.I know I have learned the tools to get back to my authentic self which is the bottom part of the heart(the white section). I do not always do this but I try, try, try. Thats the beauty of a 12 step program-its a continuous process. I always have the option. So here is "be true to my heart".

This is very dear, Julie. Actually, you are one of the more "true to your heart" people I know... You always seem to be able to find that authentic place within yourself, despite the negative self-talk, etc. Your heart illustrates this about you beautifully... almost like a self portrait. Also, notice how orderly the bands around the starting point are... It appears to be more about "control" or "constraint" than "out of control..." I don't know... just a thought.

Anyhow... another really fabulous piece. Did it go quickly for you?

Love, Robin

I really like this piece.

Its so easy to be hard on ourselves. You are probably truer to yourself than you realize!

I love your story on this piece. I know what it is like to be overwhelmed and my goal for this year is to take one item at a time, whether it is in my job (lots of jobs all at once), my embroidery / beading / etc or in my house.

Great piece! Thanks for the story behind it - I can truly relate.

oh yes, Julie, very beautiful piece, and great soul searching behind it! I definitely can relate, but I am finding that if I "act as if I am," then the "being positive" comes! We are such a "perceiving" bunch of beaders, aren't we?
Beautiful page of beading!

Dearest Julie, I just read your comment on my dress for January and had to come over and see your latest piece. I think you are one of the dearer souls on this planet and though, somedays you may struggle, the end result is LOVE. My dear woman, you exude love -- and you are so worthy of loving yourself. I always enjoy your pieces and your comments because they are so very heartfelt. Bless you on your journey for you are doing great things...I just KNOW it. xoxo Susan

Very nice heart. It's quite colorful and energetic but not chaotic or negative to me. White is a peaceful color to me - it calms down all the bright or dark ones. It's great you can recognize when life is spiraling out of your control and bring it back some. I'm working on that.

Julie - your heart is beautiful!!! I was thinking of trying a totally encrusted heart for my Feb bjp but we'll see what happens... sometimes I have an idea and once I get going I get totally off course. LOL! Marva
